CK COMMERCIAL FEATURED IN BALTIMORE BUSINESS JOURNAL

The CK Commercial Headquarters was recently featured in the Baltimore Business Journal for its modern and innovative office space.  The 2,800-square-foot space was designed with industrial and modern materials and finishes and features raw concrete, steel and re-purposed wood.  The open floor plan encourages open communication and team building and promotes an atmosphere where doors, titles and any dividing lines come down to foster an environment where everyone can focus on the mission and vision of CK Commercial and be creative as a team.

FEBRUARY STEP CHALLENGE

CK Commercial is wrapping up our internal “step challenge” where we challenged our team members to amass as many steps as they could in a day for the entire month of February. The team was informed that any team member who accumulated over 350,000 steps for the month of February, would earn an additional day off and the team member who accumulated the most steps would be rewarded with two additional days off and a $200  gift card to a spa of their choosing. The second place finisher would also be rewarded with a $100 gift card to a spa of their choosing and an additional day off.

Overall, the CK team accumulated over 3.4 million steps and averaged over 11,000 steps per day per team member. The goal was to break the monotony of sitting at a desk all day and to add a little friendly competition to our daily lives all the while improving our health.  What was really cool to hear was our team members being so thankful for the competition and the push to stay active and moving.

CK COMMERCIAL KICKS OFF 2018 WITH NEW PROJECTS.

CK Commercial is kicking off the new year by being awarded the Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) Baltimore chapter’s highest award, Excellence for Project 1009.01.   The ABC Excellence in Construction Awards recognizes and celebrates outstanding projects for their quality and workmanship.  Project 1009.01 was a 10,000 SF interior fit-out that merged stringent government requirements and specific construction methods with a high-energy design. A huge thank you to all of our subcontractor teaming partners, COPT Development & Construction Services and Arium | AE.  CK Commercial is proud of this recognition.

We are excited to have a strong amount of backlog heading into the Spring.  We are proud that many of the new projects we will be working on in 2018 are with repeat clients, which for us is the highest compliment we can receive.  CK Commercial has recently been awarded two projects in the secured market for prominent government contractors in the Baltimore / Washington area.  CK Commercial is eager to take on these complex and challenging projects to help advance our nation’s security.

We are also excited for the opportunity to cultivate relationships on projects for new clients such as Anne Arundel Dermatology.  This 10,000 SF renovation will provide the practice with a state-of-the-art facility which will help them to further their mission of providing the highest quality skin care services to the community.

We look forward to another action-packed year for CK Commercial with a lot of new things in store.  We are looking to grow our team and will be actively participating in campus recruiting for interns, trade association and industry events and other social functions with our partners.  We will also be launching a new website in the first quarter.  With so many good things on the horizon in 2018, CK Commercial is grateful for our team, clients and design and subcontractor partners.
